L.I.P.S. (Linked Interval Positioning System) is not so much about restraining dogs as it is on optimum positioning.
The more an animal is restrained, the harder it will fight, so L.I.P.S. allows the animal to have a carefully limited range of motion so that it feels like it still has control, but cannot come off the table.
