Sarah arkell Hi, does this clipper use snap on blades ? Like harmony plus ! PleaseYes this clipper uses the same A5 Snap on Blades as the Liveryman Harmony Plus.
Sharon Terry Hi What is the weight of this clipper pleaseThe Clipper weighs 440g without a blade and approx 510g with a blade.
Janice Wilkins I have purchased the KMC+ for equines which wide blades do I purchase please I am a little confused many thanksThe KMC+ uses A5 blades. A5 blades are commonly used for horse grooming. They are versatile and suitable for various clipping tasks, including:
- Body clipping: Removing excess hair to keep horses cool during hot weather or to prepare them for shows.
- Leg clipping: Trimming hair around the legs to prevent injuries and improve performance.
- Facial clipping: Neatly trimming hair around the eyes, muzzle, and ears.
Key characteristics of A5 blades for horses:
- Wide cutting width: A5 blades are designed for efficient clipping of large areas on a horse's body.
- Various cutting lengths: They are available in different cutting lengths to suit various grooming needs.
- Durable construction: Made from high-quality materials to withstand the demands of horse grooming.
- Compatibility: A5 blades are compatible with a variety of clipper brands, including Liveryman, Heiniger, and Wahl.
When choosing an A5 blade for your horse, consider the specific needs of your horse's coat and the type of clipping you intend to do.
The most common A5 blade for horse clipping is a 10 Wide, however, the length can vary from 1.2 mm to 2.5 mm depending on the specific model. If you are looking for a blade to match what you already have, check the on the blade for is size (10W for example) and the length (2.4mm for example) any blade with those same numbers should be very similar.
Beyond this you may wish to keep some different sizes of blades for specific jobs, the come in a variety of sizes depending on what you are looking for, a longer blade (5F maybe) to keep a bit more feather on the legs, a standard width blade (10) for the face. To begin width I would stick with the 10 Wide.
We have stock a range of Wide A5 Blades that are all compatible with the KM+ Equine:
- The Wahl Ultimate 10 Wide 1.8mm Is the blade supplied with the KMC+ Equine.
- The Eblade 10 Wide 1.5mm Our own brand of blade
- The Heiniger 10 Wide 2.3mm and the Heiniger 10 Wide Fine 1.5mm top-quality blades from this Swiss manufacturer.
- Laube 10 Wide 2.4mm and 10 Wide Fine 2.5mm Top Quality American made blades, the 10 Wide Fine in this range has a closer tooth spacing that will be less inclined to cut small skin tags or warts.
Remember to always use caution and follow the manufacturer's instructions when using horse clippers and blades.
