The Puppy Pants Trim is the very first style that your Poodle adorns when introduced to the Show world. Here Philip Langdon exquisitly demonstrates how to achieve this attractive style on a young Standard Poodle, followed by a Miniature Poodle in full coat.
This DVD also features Philip expertly showing his own methods of 'BANDING', 'WRAPPING' and 'OILING' the coat. He explains and shows the importance of 'MAINTENANCE BATHING', as well as bathing to Show Standard.
Philip discusses the factors, which in his opinion, makes a good Show Dog. Plus this DVD includes wonderful footage of other beautiful Poodles, in and out of the Show Ring. Learn and Enjoy!
This DVD can be watched in its entirety or in separate sections which is ideal if there are certain aspects that need refreshing.
This DVD is the second of four Poodle Master Classes. Repetition is kept to a minimum, and therefore aspects such as bathing, fluff drying, facial and feet clipping is not shown in full in each DVD, although it will be discussed. Each DVD features one or more of these aspects in greater detail.
This programme presumes that you have basic knowledge of scissoring techniques and clipper handling. We recommend Philip's Module 2 for tuition on these aspects along with clipping the face, feet, tail and hygiene areas, ear cleaning and plucking and nail clipping. Fluff drying is also demonstrated in greater detail in Module 2. All these aspects are crucial to achieve the ultimate Puppy Pants as Philip demonstrates in this Module 3.
Philip begins with 'Layer brushing' Paris, his young Standard Poodle. Such an important routine that really must not be trivialised.
Philip takes us through shaping and styling, explaining thoroughly the reasons for taking certain areas shorter than others, emphasising points on the dog, achieving the desired look - even if this means being 'creative'!
From working on the 'pack', ensuring balance on the legs, to creating a well structured mane that can support itself.
The TopKnot is an art in itself! Here Philip demonstrates step by step how he achieves this beautiful affect. Get your elastics ready!!!
Bathing - show and maintenance routine.
Oiling the coat preserves and miraculously saves hours upon hours of grooming! See how it's done.
Wrapping the hair protects and helps grow the beautiful topknot and mane- but it's a very tricky and time consuming process-
a) Is it worth it?
b) Does it restrict the dog's life?
c) Can you do it?...
c) let Philip show you how!!! (on a superbly behaved Miniature Poodle!)
Philip discusses with Hannah what, in his opinion makes a good show dog. Accompanied of course, with footage of some beautiful Poodles in action in the UK today.
Interaction between the Master and the presenter, fun and funky music along with various effects throughout ensures that this is definitely not just a boring grooming lecture!
